How I help mentees
I provide value as a technical mentor by bringing deep, hands-on experience in governance, risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, and operational resilience across banking, insurance, fintech, and consulting environments. I have built and led risk and security frameworks, implemented regulatory and control systems, and worked closely with technology, data, and product teams to translate complex risk requirements into practical, workable solutions.
I help mentees strengthen their technical foundations, understand how frameworks such as ERM, GRC, cybersecurity, and resilience operate in real organisations, and develop the ability to apply theory to real-world scenarios. This includes guidance on risk assessments, control design, incident management, regulatory expectations, and communicating technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
In addition, I support mentees in developing sound technical judgment, problem-solving skills, and professional discipline helping them move beyond certifications to true competence and confidence in practice. My goal is to help emerging professionals become technically credible, adaptable, and trusted contributors in complex, regulated environments.
Key accomplishments
Across my career, I have held senior leadership and specialist roles spanning enterprise risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, and operational resilience within banking, insurance, fintech, and advisory environments. I have served as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Operating Officer in a digital-first financial institution, as well as in senior risk and security leadership roles (including as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Security Officer) within a large, regulated organisation.
In these roles, I have led the design and implementation of enterprise-wide risk frameworks covering credit, financial, operational, technology, cyber, regulatory, and ESG risks. My work has included building and embedding risk appetite frameworks, overseeing regulatory compliance and audits, strengthening business continuity and crisis management capabilities, and embedding risk and security controls into technology platforms, products, and operations.
I have also worked closely with boards, regulators, and executive teams, translating complex risk and technical issues into clear, actionable insights to support decision-making. A key accomplishment has been advancing organisational risk maturity from emerging to advanced while achieving measurable improvements in compliance, resilience, and security outcomes. Alongside my corporate roles, I have designed and delivered technical training and mentorship programmes, and founded a social impact initiative focused on equipping young women with foundational skills in cybersecurity and risk management.
