How I help mentees

I would like to help mentees by walking with them, not just advising them—offering practical guidance drawn from real banking experience while creating a safe space for honest conversations about growth, challenges, and ambition.

I will support mentees to clarify their career direction, strengthen core banking and leadership competencies, and develop sound judgment in decision-making, especially in areas of customer management, credit, risk, and performance delivery.

Beyond skills, I aim to help them build confidence, professional discipline, and resilience, teaching them how to navigate workplace dynamics, handle pressure ethically, and transition intentionally from learning roles into leadership responsibilities.

My goal is to ensure that each mentee leaves the programme better equipped, more self-aware, and prepared to add measurable value, not only to their organisations but to the banking profession at large—growing not just in title, but in character and impact.

Key accomplishments

I am a seasoned banking professional with over 12 years of experience across retail, SME, corporate, and commercial banking, currently serving in a Branch Management leadership role. Over the years, I have also functioned as a Profit Centre Manager and Relationship Manager in leading financial institutions, including UBA and Access Bank.

My career journey has been defined by customer-centric banking, business growth, and people leadership. I have successfully built and managed high-performing teams, driven balance sheet growth, improved asset quality, and developed strong partnerships with key stakeholders across public and private sectors.

Notably, I have consistently delivered results through relationship building, innovative business sourcing, and disciplined credit analysis, while maintaining compliance and risk standards. I have also been recognised for my sales performance, leadership approach, and ability to develop younger team members by coaching them to exceed expectations and take ownership of outcomes.

These experiences have shaped my desire to mentor—sharing real-life lessons, not just theory—so that upcoming professionals can grow faster, avoid common pitfalls, and build careers of impact, integrity, and excellence.
