Having personally navigated this journey, I understand both the challenges of early-career banking roles and the expectations at more senior and strategic levels.

Key accomplishments

Throughout my career, I have played progressively responsible roles across banking operations, customer relationship management, compliance, and business transformation, giving me a well-rounded understanding of how banking careers develop in practice.

I began my career in customer-facing and operational roles at Diamond Bank Plc and Access Bank Plc, where I supported customer onboarding, KYC/CDD, account management, and compliance operations. In these roles, I worked closely with relationship managers, operations teams, and risk functions to ensure efficient service delivery and regulatory compliance. I contributed to the digitisation of customer records, automation of risk assessments, and improvements to onboarding and operational workflows, strengthening both customer experience and operational efficiency.

As my career progressed, I transitioned into business analyst roles, where I focused on shaping and delivering change initiatives rather than solely operating within existing processes. I have since worked across multiple organisations, delivering regulatory, financial crime, and digital transformation programmes. My accomplishments include leading KYC and AML automation initiatives, improving onboarding risk detection and reducing false positives, defining business rules for enterprise KYC refresh capabilities, and supporting FCA Consumer Duty–aligned process improvements.

In my current role at Barclays, I operate at an enterprise level, acting as the voice of the business across large-scale transformation initiatives. I conduct impact assessments, design current and target operating models, define customer journeys, and support business readiness through to post-go-live. Across all my roles, I have consistently delivered outcomes that improve compliance, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
