How I help mentees
As a mentor I will be offering insights into navigating career challenges with my mentees, enhancing specific skills and setting long term goals. We would enter into a mutually beneficial relationship centered on through wisdom and encouraging the mentee to grow and learn, often in an advisory capacity to provides guidance, advice, and support. My area of mentorship thus cover Career Development, Interpersonal Skills, Problem Solving and Personal Development
Key accomplishments
With over 30 years in the banking industry, Rafiat held senior management roles in retail, commercial, private, branch, and regional banking, culminating in her position as Managing Director of FIC Professionals Network Plc. She played a pivotal role at Polaris Bank (formerly Skye Bank), leading initiatives to develop small and medium enterprises.
She is the Managing Director of FIC PROFESSIONAL NETWORK PLC, a stakeholder owned organization with a strategic focus targeted towards collaborative efforts with both private and public sectors, established to pioneer Agency Banking Certification in collaboration with CIBN and SANEF with the economic backing of the office of the Vice President. Prior to the latter, she founded ATHROL Empowerment Initiative, a women-focused organization promoting financial inclusion and empowerment for underprivileged women. Under her leadership, the initiative has significantly impacted the lives of its beneficiaries.
Rafiat holds a Chartered Banker MBA from Bangor University Scotland, a Master’s in Marketing Management from Lagos State University, and is an alumna of the Lagos Business School Senior Management Programme. She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland and actively participates in professional networks.
Known for her leadership, relational capital, and humanitarian passion, Rafiat is a mentor and an ambassador for ethical banking practices. She enjoys mentoring, traveling, reading, and exploring new opportunities for impact.
